USB connectivity of the Controller Micro family has been improved. Controllers are now recognized by the operating system through a unique serial number. This fact stabilizes COM port assignment, even across software updates.
The new firmware can be downloaded on the LED Ring Service page.
I improved the LED Ring Service even further. It now detects controller ports automatically on start-up. Changes in COM port assignment that happen sometimes after Windows updates are recognized, resulting in a stable and continous operation.
In addition, I extended the configuration options to allow free running countdowns to be parameterized by the countdown duration sent by dslrBooth.
I extended the firmware of the LED Ring Controller Micro and LED Strip Controller Micro. A new function now allows to switch relais delayed. In addition to the immediately efective relais command, a delayed one may be specified. This allows to e.g. turn off effects after a given time without the need of sending a new command.
The LED Ring Service was adapted to support the new functionality.
LED Rings
I created a new version of the PhotoBooth LED Ring Service.
User-selectable brightness was added for rainbow effects.
The changes require adaptions in the Rainbow web-service calls and the configuration files. Existing configurations need to be copied before the update and applied to the new configuration files afterwards.
Tha latest controller firmware versions are required to use the new effects.
The new version is available for download in the download section of the PhotoBooth page.
LED Rings
I created a new version of the PhotoBooth LED Ring Service.
Support for dslrBooth was improved. Events may now be defined for each Booth Mode (Print, Print & GIF, GIF, Boomerang, Video).
It is now possible to use the LED Ring Service with a Strip Controller only. The LED Ring Controller was mandatory in prior versions but may now be configured empty. The Auto Config option for the LED Ring Controller may now be disabled.
The changes require adaptions in the configuration files. Existing configurations need to be copied before the update and applied to the new configuration files afterwards.
The new version is available for download in the download section of the PhotoBooth page.
Again, I updated the LED Strip Controller. It features an additional light effect that allows configuration for wider arrows pointing at the lens. It may be configured as a single arrow, a symmetrical pair of arrows and runing in a bar across the area or filling up teh area with a color.
The new LED Strip light effects are also available as animated graphics on the PhotoBooth LED Ring page.
Updated versions of both the LED Ring Service and the LED Strip Controller firmware are available for download.
Again, I updated the LED Strip Controller. It features a new light effect that allows configuration for arrows pointing at the lens. In addition, the LED Strip Controller is now able to drive up to 500 LEDs. Please note, that a really strong power supply is required for that number of LEDs!
The LED Strip light effects are now available as animated graphics on the PhotoBooth LED Ring page.
Updated versions of both the LED Ring Service and the LED Strip Controller firmware are available for download.
Constant improvement and functional extension led to a new light effect. The LED Strip Controller now allows to show a symmetrically running light effect e.g. on a pair of arrows pointing at the lens.
To use the new functionality, both the LED Ring Service and the Strip Controller have to be updated.
