Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world (1637m ). The clear and cold water is home of a multitude of, most endemic, species. Amonst the most popular are the Baikal Seal and a large number of Gamarus.

Diving Lake Baikal is a unique experience. Amazing drop-offs go down to 150m, where they continue to go down after a small ridge. Visibility up to 40m is possible. The shear walls show traces of former waterfalls, that formed the landscape thousands of years ago. Green sponges form a great contrast to the dark igneous rock.
