I did a two weeks trip to Southern England. You may find impressions of the trip in my gallery.
The Ministry of Justice in the German province Rheinland-Pfalz introduced an end-to-end electronic processing of lawsuits. They celebrated the start by a symbolic launch of the system.
The Minister of Justice, Herbert Mertin himself pushed the button.
Good luck!
It’s hard to find an Olympus VA-1 angle finder. Therefore, I did some research to find an alternative. The Seagull universal angle finder hits the bill. It is available, reasonable priced and it got a mount for adaptors. In addition to the large number of adapters that are already shipped with the angle finder, I developped three more.
One for the OM-D E-M1 and E-M1 II, another one for the three cameras OM-D E-M5 II, E-M10 II and E-M10 III and a third one for the PEN-F.
Oh yes, Mr. President. My buzzer is bigger than yours. Its working, and it makes people happy. It trigggers a camera instead of nuclear weapons. It brings fun and happiness without killing somebody.
It is horrible to watch a few madmen to spread fear and violence while starting wars. We can’t fence our nice little world good enough. One day war will be on our doorstep. The same war we already allowed for too long to exist. I therfore say a loud and clear NO to war and violence in any form. No matter if it is lead in the name of a god or for any kind of good cause. This madness has to stop now or our world will burst out in flames you won’t be able to control anymore.
This had to be said here and now.
#NoToWar
I overhauled the LED Ring Controller. It is now available as Windows Service. It runs in the background and can be started automatically at system startup.
A new function has been added to the LED ring firmware. It now supports a free running automatic countdown function. This allows to use countdown in Breeze or Darkroom Booth.
To support applications that can only call commandline functions, a helper application has been added.
The latest version of the software and firmware is now available on my website.
I gave the LED Ring Controller application a face-lift. It now supports both dslrBooth and Breeze. Configuration has been streamlined. To ease the installation I wrapped teh application in a setup image.
… long live the filter holder!
The mould for the Panasonic 7-14mm filter holder is dead. It did a good job but finally reached end of life. A new one would be too expensive.
I therefore uploaded the printing data to my Shapeways Shop. You may order a filter holder as 3D Selective Laser Sintered model directly from the shop. The filter holder isn’t as sturdy and doesn’t look that smug but it’s much cheaper.
I decided to publish the schematics and PCB layout for the Photo Booth Controller as public domain. All documents necessary for building a controller are available for download.
Finally, the lid for the battery compartment is available for the Olympus OM-D E-M1 II. You may order it as spare part at via davinci, item number VP924500. Currently, delivery time is said to be 4 to 6 weeks.
With this part, if properly modified, you may use the BLH-1 battery adapter with the battery compartment closed. I ordered one and will write a modification guideline.
