Amrum is a small island in northern Germany, close to the Danish border. Against expectations, the island has more to offer than meets the eye. Sand, sand and again sand. It is spread along the western coastline on a wide beach. The beach is bordered by dunes, followed by a wide variety of constantly changing landscape. You can find woods as well as wetland or fields.
The small villages consist mainly of traditional houses, many of them thatched with reed.
